Ring Concierge began in New York City as a luxury private jeweler and has since scaled into a successful e-commerce business and private jeweler accessible to the mass. Nicole Wegman, founder of Ring Concierge, has strategically utilized social media to disrupt the historically close-knit, male-dominated diamond industry to create a jewelry business for women, by women. Founded in 2013, Ring Concierge has grown exponentially over the past 8 years and continues to expand its team by opening an office in Rochester.

About Role 

Ring Concierge is a rapidly growing female-founded fine jewelry company specializing in customized engagement rings and fine jewelry. As the Human Resources (HR) Generalist, you will perform a full range of responsibilities to support the company from an HR perspective. These efforts will include owning the company’s recruiting process, HR analytics/database management, HR compliance, and other various day-to-day HR needs.This role is forward thinking, while always maintaining close attention to detail, and strong decision making. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, with a go-getter attitude, and no-task-too-small mindset. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire recruiting process end-to-end
    • Maintain Company wide hiring plans
    • Create job descriptions
    • Post roles on Company’s website and externally 
    • Liaise with recruiting agencies
    • Monitor incoming applications and determine who to interview
    • Schedule candidate interviews & coordinate with necessary interviewers
    • Effectively interview candidates to determine their ability to perform against the role
    • Stay in touch with candidates throughout the hiring process
    • Work closely with the Executive Team on offer details
    • Conduct candidate reference and background checks
    • Manage entire onboarding process 
  • Maintain HR systems and databases  
    • Applicant Tracking System
    • Professional Employer Organization system
    • Develop and maintain HR analytics - hiring plans, headcount, employee spend, etc.
  • Facilitate Year-end Processes
    • Coordinate with Executive Team on annual performance reviews
    • Set up the performance management system 
    • Prepare materials for review meetings
    • Schedule review meetings with employees
    • Assist with with annual compensation review as needed
    • Stay up to date market value on positions and compensation analysis 
  • General HR support
    • Properly save new hire documents
    • Maintain records of personnel-related data
    • Field all HR related queries internally and externally to the appropriate persons
    • Ensure that the Company is compliant with employment laws and regulations
    • Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to Company’s policies and procedures 
    • Develop existing orientation/onboarding documents to create a streamlined onboarding process for new hires
    • Create & maintain HR Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents 
    • Liaise with external legal counsel 
      • Review and update existing employment documents
      • Create new documents as necessary 
  • Misc projects/support for the Executive Team 

 

About You 

  • Full understanding of the HR function within a company and best practices
  • Experience with end-to-end recruiting process
  • Strong understanding of interviewing with the ability to effectively assess candidates 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately - strong ethics and reliability 
  • Experience being the HR point of contact for the company with understanding of nuances in different situations and how to properly handle them
  • Highly analytical with experience creating necessary HR analysis 
  • Understanding of year-end processes within HR
  • Experience with HR databases and PEO systems
  • Highly organized with ability to effectively manage workload 
  • Ability to pivot from various projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter but ability to work collaborative in a team environment
  • Meticulous and pays close attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (additional education in Human Resource Management is a plus)
  • ~ 5 or more years of experience in HR recruiting or as a generalist
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

 

Details

  • Full-time role located in New York, NY or Rochester, NY 
  • Office Hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the knowledge that we have a startup culture and your day may extend past listed office hours (with the possibility of weekends during busy season, sales or events)
